Zamek Krolewski w Warszawie - Muzeum, Warsaw

4.2
The official residence of Poland's monarchs for more than two centuries, Zamek Krolewski w Warszawie - Muzeum sits at the entrance of Old Town. Between the 16th and 18th centures, this castle housed the king's personal offices and served as the administrative center for the country's royal court. Devastated by foreign invaders several times over its long history, the castle underwent a massive reconstruction after World War II. Admire the majestic building, now a national monument. The castle also features a museum with a significant art collection, including two notable works by Rembrandt. • This is an amazing place to visit. Huge collection of house hold items used by the Royal Family with all gold and silver was a eye catching experience. They were all well presented. You need more time...  more »
  • Warsaw is not a tourist destination of excellence. The city was raved by World War II and had to undergo a massive reconstruction process. And some very interesting things have arisen. The current Royal castle in Warsaw (Zamek Królewski W Warszawie) was built where it once existed, since the 14TH century, a tower and several wooden buildings. With the change from the capital of Krakow to Warsaw in 1596, Segismundo III ordered the construction of a new royal castle. From Tardobaroque architecture was included in the new building the ancient castle of the princes of Masovian. It was the target of several reforms along the subsequent reals and suffered very severe damage during the Second World War, but was actively rebuilt in the decade of 80 of the TWENTIETH century. The entrance is made by the Sigismundo Tower and the visit to the castle begins with the rooms of the Kings ' chambers. Further ahead is the small but magnificent throne room, decorated in royal red and gold, with some still original pieces. There are also the Houses of Parliament and the Hall of the Great Assembly. The Canaletto room, the courtroom, the King's Room, the marble room, the Grand Hall, the Knights ' hall, the throne Room, the room of the European monarchs, the Senate room, are noteworthy.
