Old Town, Warsaw

(8,000+ reviews on the web)
Historic Walking Area Tourist Spot
Take in Old Town, the oldest part of the city, which testifies to its rise from the ashes of war. Considered one of the country's main architectural treasures, this central district is also a World Heritage Site. The area was meticulously rebuilt after the massive destruction of World War II. During the reconstruction, workers sifted through rubble to save decorative elements and bricks from historic buildings, reusing the pieces in their original places whenever possible. A great place to start your tour of Warsaw, the central square features cafes, shops, and restaurants. Wander the cobblestone streets and admire the medieval architecture. • Old Town is a place where you can meet history. Small alleys let you move on for a moment to another epoch. It is worth to come here for a walk not only in the summer.  more »

  • We stayed at 38/38A Piwna Street for 4 days in march 2017. We really like the apartment which is a normal 1- bedroom apartment with a large living-room and fully- equipped kitchen. The hall and apartment is extremely neat and clean. It is an old apartment with a little sewer smell from the drain in the bathroom and the windows are two single-layered glass which means it is very noisy when drunk people party in the streets. There is also a loud noise every time the tram goes near-by. The area in the old town is very cozy and you her the worlds best pizza in the near-by restaurant Ciao Napoli.
