Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego houses a permanent exhibit dedicated to the 1944 rebellion by the underground resistance movement against Nazi occupation. Although the uprising failed, it remains a proud event for Poland, as it was the largest military effort of any European resistance movement during World War II. Opened in 2004, the museum features hundreds of artifacts, including weapons and love letters written by some of the more prominent insurgents. • We were 2 days in Warsaw. We have not been in a situation. Of all the European capitals that I know are the least interesting. I have no need to come back here ever. In WW2 Here is very much bombed out and decades communism has not helped much. So many huge, bald squares with revolution build around. Here and there beautiful modern architecture. The old town is nicely rebuilt, but it does give the Efteling feeling. We were in the magnificent building of the museum over the 1000 years history of Polish Jews. It was, quite frankly, too much and too verbose. Only the 20th century would have been much better. The Russian culture Palace is beautiful of ugliness, there is no more to say.

  • A fascinating and moving account of the Warsaw uprising! An absolute must see! The audio guide is good and it's easy to find your way around the exhibits. It is huge and you will need a few hours to fully appreciate it. We had tea and cake in the cafe too which was lovely.
  • An overall nice museum with a huge amount of information about the uprising and memories from people that took part in it. A big downside was having to leave bags behind and the limit of going into the museum in a small group of people. The direction of the tour was pretty confusing and also there's only one tight doorway to enter and exit the museum which made us wait for a while before we could go in.
  • Great museum! An awesome opportunity to learn more about Poland's history in WWII. There is lots of information around every inch of the museum, so look at everything carefully. There is a room especially for little kids and some parts of the exhibition are interactive, which makes this museum suitable for the whole family. Take your time to walk around, the museum is way bigger than it appears and sometimes the right path to follow the exhibitions are not really intuitive!
  • Extremely cool museum, different experience for the visitor as it walks you around different points of views of the history of Warsaw and the Uprising. Allow for at least 3 hours in there if you are fast, or half a day or more if you really want to explore all the exhibits. Very easy to get there using the tram, and the day I went, admission was free so there was a line. Plan to arrive early. Across the garden and the wooden bridge there is a cool cafe to have seat and relax after your visit. I cannot say enough of how impressed I was by this museum and how well built and thoughtful it is. EXTREMELY recommended during any visit to Warsaw.
  • It was wonderful to know the history of Warsaw rising. At the same time, very sad stories. It's true that history always made from people's blood. Salute to those patriotic people who sacrificed their lives try to achieve freedom.
