  • You may not come when you want to, but that you enter in "batches" of visitors every half hour. The Museum is mounted very well, is very interactive, you can enjoy music from the solo genius playing scores of different pieces with your fingers. It should have more room to sit, especially at the entrance while waiting to touch you enter, turn and they should also be serviced more often the headphones, but is frankly well.

  • Without a doubt this museum is the most interactive thing between all Poland. There is much material photo and annotation of the own Chopin. The story is told in detail and has a chronological order to follow it. There are very valuable items like his last piano or a piece of hair that his sister cut off at the time of death. It also has information concerning students who had in her short life. I recommend it without a doubt. It has many rooms with different types of interaction.

  • The Museum tells all, yes all, Chopin's life (including love and lovers). Is a multimedia Museum with interesting installations that allow you to listen to music by Chopin. Unfortunately, many installations do not respond to commands or are just broken (countless headphones damaged). If it worked it would be very interesting and immersive ... shame!

  • You can find detailed information about the life of Chopin and more than this. In a few words, it's fascinating place to explore. Enjoy your visit!
  • Probably the worst arranged museum I have ever visited. It's confusing and there is no coherent story telling. There was a lot of nice idea for using technology but they are very poorly executed resulting in the technology getting in the way with unresponsive displays and videos that slow down your understanding rather than efficient story telling. The only upside from visiting the museum is that I will now read the Wikipedia entry for Chopin which does a much much better job than this museum. Do not visit!
  • The worst museum I've ever visited. Just copies of letters, sheet music and concert tickets. All the information is only available on a computer screen, which means it can only be read by one person at a time, and they often don't work. Simple words on paper wouldn't break!
  • Compact museum but well appointed. No tours, great to explore independently. Lots of audiovisual material is activated with a card you receive at the entrance.
  • While I greatly enjoyed the visit, seeing as I found it unexpectedly by walking past it, there are aspects to the museum that heavily detract from the experience. The museum is a detailed examination of Chopin's life, but it is managed like a funeral home, or like a church service when the coffin is in front of the altar. Instead of celebrating his life and music, it is like being at his funeral, which is an incredibly poor way to represent the richness of his life. All the visitors were quiet like church mice. It takes time to go through all of the written notes, some more video describing his life would have been easier to digest. There's a LOT of reading. Still, it's a great place to visit to learn more about such an iconic composer.

Where to stay in Warsaw

Many centrally located hotels in Warsaw cater mostly to business travelers, which makes them much too expensive for backpackers and other visitors on a limited budget. Although hostels may seem like the only affordable option at the height of the season, you can find less expensive lodgings in mid-range hotels on the outskirts of town. Alternatively, time your visit for the weekend, when many hotels near the city center slash their prices and offer special deals for early booking.
