Monument Tourist Spot
The first monument destroyed during German occupation, Chopin Monument was recast in 1958 from the original mold. The statue depicts a willow representing the composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin's long, graceful fingers. Located in Warsaw's Royal Baths Park, the statue makes a good stop if you're touring the grounds. Put Chopin Monument at the forefront of your travel plans using our Warsaw vacation planner.

  • Statue to Poland's most famous musician. Located in large park near Belweder Palace. Quite far from Old Town. Used as backdrop for outdoor classical concerts.  more »
  • This is a beautiful park. It was fun to watch the school children and the gardeners. I was hoping that the park would include some of the benches that play Chopin music. However, I didn't see any.  more »

  • Łazienki Park is the largest park in Warsaw, and takes time to explore fully. Set aside a few unhurried hours to stroll, take photos and even listen to music if there are concerts happening. During summer there are plenty of classical recitals to be enjoyed. The statue of Chopin, the composer is a revered Polish cultural icon, has an interesting history. A good tour guide will tell you the stories around it, the park and the place it holds amongst the Polish. It's worth a visit, and is also one of many historical and cultural sites within the park itself. I visited the park on my own, and while I enjoyed the experience, visiting it with a tour guide is an entirely new level of experience. One great feature is the music of Chopin that can be heard playing from benches.
  • Beautiful gardens, on sundays there are free concerts of Chopin music. You can walk around or simply rest on the grass and eat lunch.
  • Chopin monumental. Check out the music playing benches, also across the city. Beautiful Park.
  • This place is picturesque. As Chopin was a great composer this statue is a tribute to his contribution. It is definately worth visiting it.
  • One of the Warsaw's highlights. Even without the monument the park would be a must-see. Unless you hate parks, that is. Before seeing the pensive Frederic Chopin, take a few minutes to read up on who he was, and what does "cannons hidden in flowers" mean.

Where to stay in Warsaw

Many centrally located hotels in Warsaw cater mostly to business travelers, which makes them much too expensive for backpackers and other visitors on a limited budget. Although hostels may seem like the only affordable option at the height of the season, you can find less expensive lodgings in mid-range hotels on the outskirts of town. Alternatively, time your visit for the weekend, when many hotels near the city center slash their prices and offer special deals for early booking.
