Chopin Monument, Warsaw

#19 of 468 in Things to do in Warsaw
The first monument destroyed during German occupation, Chopin Monument was recast in 1958 from the original mold. The statue depicts a willow representing the composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin's long, graceful fingers. Located in Warsaw's Royal Baths Park, the statue makes a good stop if you're touring the grounds. • Łazienki Park is the largest park in Warsaw, and takes time to explore fully. Set aside a few unhurried hours to stroll, take photos and even listen to music if there are concerts happening. During summer there are plenty of classical recitals to be enjoyed. The statue of Chopin, the composer is a revered Polish cultural icon, has an interesting history. A good tour guide will tell you the stories around it, the park and the place it holds amongst the Polish. It's worth a visit, and is also one of many historical and cultural sites within the park itself. I visited the park on my own, and while I enjoyed the experience, visiting it with a tour guide is an entirely new level of experience. One great feature is the music of Chopin that can be heard playing from benches.
  • Amazing park. Starting here and then having a stroll through this wonderful park was amazing. I loved it.
  • One of the best things I've ever experienced. Free Chopin openair piano concerts on Sunday at noon and 4pm. Gotta love it!
  • Very nice behaviour of employees. Good ambiance. I liked it.
  • Sunday noon and 4pm - Chopin recital, open air, live and free; for those who are into a clasical music.
