Książ Castle, Walbrzych

4.1
#1 of 19 in Things to do in Walbrzych
Get to know the history of "the pearl of Lower Silesia" and its residents at Książ Castle. The original castle was built on a rock cliff surrounded by the forest in the 13th century, and it was reconstructed in the 18th century. Follow the tracks of the Hochberg's through the Baroque salons, along the rock of fortune, onto the terraces, and into a tunnel. Nazi Germans built the tunnel 15 m (49 ft) under the castle during World War II. The castle also houses an art gallery, two restaurants, and three hotels. Additional attractions include the entrance to the castle tower, castle stables, coach house, tomb chapel, and indoor arena built entirely of larchwood without any nails. • The visit took place on 13 August. a lot of people, awful commotion in ticket offices and in the guidebooks. Lord opryskliwe room children screaming. patrol. I recommend visiting on weekdays.

  • A huge Castle, which is really impressive, especially from the outside. Inside you can watch Chamber (there are plenty). Some retain the style of the era, in other exhibitions. This is what bothers is the enormity of the tourists and a really big piston (Castle we visited in the holiday season)

  • For single Castle view only and only with a guide. Now I had the opportunity to visit it a second time after 15 years. The first time guided tour-a lot of interesting information and the opportunity to see the underworld. Now due to the children we decided to wait for the Guide and we took advantage of the PTO-the idea of apką and headphones would be cool, if not jammed and has acted in each point. From the outside the castle is impressive-a beautiful and majestic. In the middle of the outside of a Maximilian and several other lots of empty rooms and corridors. Too expensive tickets, as a point of interest, that the Castle offers.

  • It's a beautiful castle in a very pretty area and the restaurants around are great. Unfortunately the insight does not bear much of the old charms it could as there is hardly any furniture in most rooms. The gardens a beautiful though. Great place for a day walk.
  • Amazingly beautiful castle with a very neat and romantic park. The castle's view point is a great place for photographers at every time of the year. I also liked a large collection of old photos from XIX and the first half of XX century. The place has 2 parkings: one expensive hotel parking at the top and a cheaper one which is lower and a bit closer to the highway.
  • A very pretty and huge castle. Entrance is cheap and definitely value for money. The walk through the castle is guided by clear arrows so you don't miss a thing. The castle is beautifully restored and still has a lot of character. One of the inhabitants must have I been a huge fan of the early photography as the tour offers an extensive photo collection of the life at the castle and it's inhabitants back then. The queue at the ticket office can be long. But a ticket vending machine is available next to the lines. Paying by card is possible at both. The park around the castle is worth a walk as the woods are vast.
  • The most beautiful castle in this part of Poland. There is a lot of to see and if you like sightseeing there is your heaven. The best idea is to go here when the weather is good and buy a ticket that allows you to visit Castle along with beautiful terraces. There is also beautiful park and viewpoint that allows to take brillant photos. You can also try tasty meals and, if you can afford, stay in hotel that is also here.
  • I liked the place and the history behind it. It is really beautiful. But history had some impact on the insides. There is not much of original stuff inside. Still cool tho
