Scenic Walking Area Historic Site
Get to know the history of "the pearl of Lower Silesia" and its residents at Książ Castle. The original castle was built on a rock cliff surrounded by the forest in the 13th century, and it was reconstructed in the 18th century. Follow the tracks of the Hochberg's through the Baroque salons, along the rock of fortune, onto the terraces, and into a tunnel. Nazi Germans built the tunnel 15 m (49 ft) under the castle during World War II. The castle also houses an art gallery, two restaurants, and three hotels. Additional attractions include the entrance to the castle tower, castle stables, coach house, tomb chapel, and indoor arena built entirely of larchwood without any nails. • It's a beautiful castle in a very pretty area and the restaurants around a great. Unfortunately the insight does not bear much of the old charms it could as there is hardly any furniture in most rooms. The gardens a beautiful though. Great place for a day walk.
  • We went to the Flower and Arts Festival in Książ Castle. One of the worst experiences we had. It was a festival of bazaars with food and cheap garbage products. It was crowded, loud and unbearable. We didn't see the castle as we left. We will come back another day when it is quiet. Stay clear of the festival!
  • BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT – absolutely not recommended to visit! This is a shopping centre camouflaged as a castle. 1) Long queues – in total 1.5hrs to get in 2) Expensive tickets (40PLN per person, plus 10PLN for parking!) 3) Inside there’s just a huge shopping centre and nothing to see (this is a pure rip-off) 4) The tunnel sounds interesting but when there you can only visit a 20m stretch under the basement (5minutes visit, but you have to wait 30mins to get in) 5) Very unfriendly staff Best recommendation is just to see the castle from the view-point and leave out the shopping centre (which is camouflaged as a castle)
  • An absolute must-see. Stunning castle and mountain scenery. Lovely town and interesting history. Can be very crowded - so visit at atypical times to make the most of it.
  • Lovely place with get interesting history- especially room what was left by German soldiers. Parking close to Castle.
