I was/am impressed! If you are passionate about history, and especially interested in the history of Poznań and the surrounding area, there is really worth a look! Gladly I'll look again.

Explore the Museum for hours. Ok. 15 min takes the movie, then everyone gets the device with headphones and there are 3 paths to explore. Generally these are excavations reconstructed walls of the former settlement. However, this is not a great attraction. Tickets cheap 6pln reduced.

The tiny Museum based around the excavated portions of the shaft of the defence of the former. The shaft that you can admire from the balcony is impressive, but beyond that there is nothing interesting. A place for true enthusiasts of history. Plus play area for children.

  • Great for a quick peek.
  • Genius Loci Archeological Park is for hardcore history lovers like me. There you can see a different view into Poznan’s medieval past. This is an archeological site where you can unearth, reconstruct and understand how was the life of the people that used to live on the Cathedral Island more than a thousand years ago. At Genius Loci Archeological Park you will be able to see the original stone and wooden structures that date back to the 10th century and walk on a glass path on top of the original city walls and embankments. I don’t know if this place is for everybody but I loved to be able to see how Poznan looked like so long ago.
  • Awesome museum
  • nice
  • Intriguing one museum exhibit-perfectly preserved portion of the shaft amphibian wooden medieval knowledge of (X). A bit out of the way, as it were, behind the Cathedral you will find one of the most intriguing places on the map of tourism. Archaeological reserve was created to provide visitors with one of the oldest objects in Poznań-perfectly preserved piece of the shaft amphibian wooden medieval. A defensive structure of the hillfort was unveiled in the trench, over which was built a small but thoroughly modern museum building. The ability to almost touch design keep from the time of the early Piast State is the mystical experience. It is worth mentioning that the amphibian wooden ramparts grodzisk ancient are the second next to the Hussars product of Polish military thought that changed the fate of the Polish and Europe. Who knows if not extremely resistant, a siege method used in Western Europe, strengthen, not Clearing podzieliliby the fate of the Slavs and the only trace of them would be the names of rivers, ancient cities and perhaps one of the eastern Länder of Germany. It will not be exaggeration if we say that its existence in the first centuries of the Polish State owed shafts amphibian, exactly like the one piece we can deviate in the Archaeological Reserve Genius Loci.

Where to stay in Poznan

Poznan draws huge business crowds during its international trade fairs, which cause a drastic increase in hotel prices. Business travelers cram the centrally located hotels during the week, so weekends remain the best time for sightseeing visits on a limited budget. Unless you have to stay in the city center, consider one of the outlying neighborhoods' hostels, which come in all shapes and sizes. Cozy guesthouses offer another affordable option, providing simply furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and private parking.
