  • Cathedral Church in Opole is really a living sign of the centuries-old tradition. A lot of interesting history, hidden and often unobtrusive on the first view. Worth seeing-renovation work underway-after them on the bank will be a gem! I recommend!

  • The Cathedral is richly decorated, is very nice. The chapels are open so you can easily enter and enjoy what is there. I recommend to anyone who is.

  • Monumental, beautiful Cathedral. In 2017 Opole will celebrate 800 summer. And in the 2024 pass 1000 years when the Opole brought the relics of the Holy Cross trees. A little bit I do not understand, sometime historians have lost almost 200 years below a little history on the part of the Cathedral: the origins of the temple, however, date back to earlier years. In the year 1024 Bishop gave the new Church in Opole relics of Holy Cross, which has received a gift from St. Emeryk. Then this city has changed its coat of arms: to Piast Eagle added a half cross. At the beginning of the 13th century chapter was established, and the Church of the Holy Cross has become the Church of kolegiackim. In the middle of the 13th century the parish of surrounding villages had already about 2 thousand of the faithful. Thanks to the generosity of Duke Bolesław and already in the year 1295 was built in late Romanesque style Basilica of the Tower, which has become a real decoration of the city. Canonical Holy Cross is dedicated to 16 November 1295.
