Niedzica Castle (Zamek w Niedzicy), Niedzica

Niedzica Castle also known as Dunajec Castle, is located in the southernmost part of Poland in Niedzica (Nowy Targ County in Lesser Poland). It was erected between the years 1320 and 1326 by Kokos of Brezovica on the site of an ancient stronghold surrounded by earthen walls in the Pieniny mountains. The Niedzica Castle stands at an altitude of 566 m, on a hill 300 m upstream from the Dunajec River mouth, measured from the center of the dam on Lake Czorsztyn. The outline of Niedzica Castle can best be viewed from the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle on the other side of the lake. It is known as one of the most picturesque castles in the country and adorns the covers of many books.

  • Being a tourist individual watch groups. Olala guide us even after zwroceniu attention, should talk to a group of 50 people there to a dozen kolonijnych "smurfów". Odfuknela, she has a group of stars and not see us ... and then she ostentatiously to Cologne. In the dispute, that the Group had a book Guide. BROTHEL ON WHEELS!. The lack of professional guides, and employ probably students (gowniarzeria-there was no one adult) odbebniajacych practice, which lack experience and respect for the tourist. Great Castle, the area also and disgust after mess dezinformacyjnym. Worth a go at 9 this when an empty car park and safe.

  • Place more crowded than adjacent to it. Place, although it requires a little patience, because the entrance you have to wait. The castle itself is charming and delightful. The Castle goes "down". Behind the gate entrance and sienią arrived is the lower Castle yard. In parts of the Museum you can see. Salamonów Chambers, equipped with items from the 16th-19th century After wooden stairs you enter the observation deck. Next goes to the upper Castle and Castle dungeons, which served as cellars, as well as a prison in the courtyard of the castle of the upper is forged in the solid limestone rock well at a depth of more than 60 m. The Lord's Chambers on the top of the castle can be seen: a hunting, House żupną and House guard. The area around the Castle landscaped. Also worth visiting is a carriage shed. I recommend visiting both castles (Czorsztyn and Niedzica) in one day. The best access to the Czorsztyn. There leave the car on the top free car park at the beginning of the village and after seeing the castle in czorsztyn go to the Marina where the Lake (attraction) services.

  • Personally we were visiting the Castle, because the queue after the tickets was equal to the queue on the Kasprowy ... area in about the Castle preserved very well, clean and green. A firewall on the Lake very pleasant view. By going to the other side of the walk to the hut where they do real souvenirs:)

  • Man marching a few good hours through the mountains to see the Castle, and after reaching the place, he kisses the handle, because the Directorate decided that on this day just happened to the Museum will be closed and hanging at the entrance, and not on the website.

  • Niedzica Castle was built in the 14th century, together with the second Bank of the Dunajec Castle in czorsztyn, controlled the trade route from Hungary to the Polish. Over the centuries, passed from hand to hand, the last of his own was a Hungarian family Salamonów. It was in his lands, the longest in Europe, because until 1931 r preserved form of serfdom. Like the Castle Tropsztyn is even more complex, the legend of Princess inkaskiej Uminie, reportedly found it even "kipu" Inca knotting. Is a Castle located beautifully and with great care, undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful sights of the South Polish and being in the area, there is no way his visit.
