Once the site of royal coronations, Wawel Cathedral represents one of Poland's most significant religious and architectural sites. Two previous buildings burned down here before the church was erected more than nine centuries ago. The present-day cathedral, a Gothic structure, features several chapels built in different architectural styles. As you enter, notice the chain hanging to the left of the main iron door. Made of prehistoric animal bones, this chain is known for having magical powers that ensure the continued presence of the cathedral. To learn more about the large collection of sarcophaguses and altarpieces, take a guided tour. For a relatively modest entrance fee of 15 Polish Zloty at concession rate this worth a look. Situated within the castle grounds but with a separate entrance fee to the main castle attractions there..... more

Really good value. The audio tour is brilliant. Such an I treating explanation of the history of the cathedral. Highly recommend a visit. Takes around an hour.

The Cathedral is absolutely wonderful! The architecture is amazing! If you're in Poland you should definitely visit it. The only bummer is that you are not allowed to take pictures inside. Also, you have to pay to enter, not sure how much the fee is

We enjoyed the visit to the Cathedral although, sadly, it was not well signposted when we were inside. There was a large tour group in the main cathedral when we first arrived and so we followed a sign to the crypt to give them time to finish their tour. We were unaware that this was also the exit through the crypt (there was no indication of this on the sign) and so we were unable to return to see the cathedral itself. That was disappointing as we would have loved to explore the cathedral itself more. The crypt was interesting and some of the sarcophagus are very elaborate.

There are many churches in Krakow, especially in the old town. If I'm not mistaken this church is the biggest of them all. I feel the spirits of people inside that need to be respected.

One of the most important historical place in Poland. You can see tombs of polish kings and other important persons. Wawel hill was a home for many polish kings and it is worth visiting.

Its worth to visit. Its a bit sad that its necessary to pay for entree. It would be better if that wouldn't be the case, specially because they also get funded. Is it worth the price? Yes, it is. You really see the highlights of the history of Poland and so its highlight architecture. On top of all their is a gorgeous view from the bell tower.
