Flea Market · Shopping
Located in the middle of the main square, Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) is one of the city's most recognizable architectural landmarks. The Renaissance building was once the center of international clothing trade (thus its name). In the final decades of the 19th century, it was converted into an art museum and became a major cultural venue. The grand halls house one of the largest permanent exhibits of Polish art, arranged by historical period and theme. Take a self-guided tour of the upper-floor galleries to see noted works by Josef Chelmonski, Aleksander Gierymski, Jan Matejko, and Jacek Malczewski. The ground floor features a busy market where you can purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs. • A beautiful place full of souvenir shops that you must visit but .... Be aware that the prices despite the look of a "local market' are higher than in the shops not facing the main square . We...  more »
  • Beautiful architecture, interesting history, a true landmark of the square. Inside the hall they sell all kinds of souvenirs which is not something I'm interested in buying but the hall looks very...  more »
  • This is a great building to see. Inside there are lots of somewhat overpriced touristy souvenir stalls but if you like that stuff feel free to browse. My four star rating is for the architecture.  more »
  • Had an amazing experience. Great building once you will enter market it will take you back in time. Many many shops inside you can buy different kind of stuff. The night view of building is just incredible. It looks more beautiful in night. Lots of resturants around this hall.
  • This is amazing place. Old town. Wonderful place. Here you can get beautiful gifts from Krakow and Poland. Surrounded by top restaurants. This is must see and visit place. I am always coming back here. LOVE.
  • The cloth hall is in the middle of the square. Nice looking building, little souvenir shops to look round. To spend money you don't have, on stuff you don't need, to give to people you don't like. LOL
  • Great place to get gifts and jewelry. The Christmas festival is a lot of fun with amazing food. The architecture of the buildings gives it a great feel.
  • This place has been a market square for half a millennium. That alone makes it a worthwhile visit. It’s also the centerpiece of the main square of Kraków. Though the shops sell mostly tourist type stuff, lots of it are higher quality (including amber jewelry). Prices are mostly reasonable. Don’t expect to haggle much like in the past. Prices are basically fixed unless you buy multiple or more expensive items.
