Enjoy the idyllic scenery at Planty Park, famous for well-tended floral displays, small lakes, fountains, and statues. Following the line of the city walls, which protected this part of the city until the 19th century, the park is composed of thirty distinct gardens. Established in the 1820s and expanded over the years, the park now covers 21 hectares (52 acres) and stretches more than 4 km (2.5 mi). Stroll the scenic walkway for a shady retreat from the busy streets. Add Planty Park to your Krakow travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Krakow travel route builder app .

  • Cyba everyone travelled through, at any time of the year may your charm, I love summer and summer is the most interesting thing, although winter also have their charm, when migotają lights and trees cover the white snowflakes. I guess more and more longingly for Krakow:)

  • Nice park for a stroll or picnic - make sure you see the barbican and st. florian's gate whilst exploring it.  more »
  • Even in winter, which is a beautiful promenade planned Park: of course you have to consider less green, for it but can be seen the old town of Kraków from a different angle. And with a little luck is also always a solid blanket of snow, what is also very pretty. In between appearing and more historic buildings in the Park.

  • Krakow city center is completely surrounded by garden. It is really amazing and nice to see, this particular piece is part of this surrounding garden.
  • A beautiful walk around the heart of Krakow almost a divide between the old city and the new. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the many statues and green spaces.🖒
  • Great park to stroll around at your leisure completely surrounding the old town of Kraków. There are numerous statues and monuments sites around the park also for you to admire.
  • Nice, green garden, cool to spend here time and go for a walk. But so many tourists on the weekends.
  • It's a beautiful park in the center of Krakow. You should visit it.

Where to stay in Krakow

Krakow ranks among one of Europe's increasingly popular tourist destinations, which is reflected in the rising costs of comfortable lodgings. The best hotels are concentrated in and around the historical old town, where five-star luxury comes at a very steep price. Old town hotels place you just steps from fine shops and restaurants, as well as the city's main museums and galleries. However, if your trip involves a tight budget, avoid the central district and check out mid-range hotels and economical hostels in one of the outlying neighborhoods.
