Where to stay in Krakow

Krakow ranks among one of Europe's increasingly popular tourist destinations, which is reflected in the rising costs of comfortable lodgings. The best hotels are concentrated in and around the historical old town, where five-star luxury comes at a very steep price. Old town hotels place you just steps from fine shops and restaurants, as well as the city's main museums and galleries. However, if your trip involves a tight budget, avoid the central district and check out mid-range hotels and economical hostels in one of the outlying neighborhoods.

  • This outside market is situated about ten minute walk away from old town. They sell things like old kitchen-stuff, old books, old tools, fake lego and stuff I would like to call garbage. But it is fun...  more »
  • Get there early if you are a serious buyer. Otherwise 9am or even 10 is still OK. I went in October and got there at 10 and there was still loads of stuff to sift through. I bought a fab silver bracel...  more »

  • Worth the visit on a Sunday morning if you're looking for some deals. They have a good fresh produce market and bakery here too for most of your shopping needs.
  • Best place to buy local and imported produce. The various stalls contain butchers, bakeries, free-range+organic eggs, and a few small eateries. Pick your favorite and visit often. The grocery store nearby can fill in and gaps that are missing in the stalls. On Sunday mornings this place becomes a massive flea market where people from all over the district come down and try to sell their stuff. Every night you can grab a fire roasted sausage from the blue van guys.
  • Great location. Grand shopping
  • Good to see ild things
  • Very characteristic on sunday, you can find every kind of stuff
