Krakow Zoo (Ogrod Zoologiczny), Krakow

(3.8/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Just outside the city, Krakow Zoo (Ogrod Zoologiczny) rests on a Jurassic plateau in a 17 hectare (42 acre) area. It is home to more than 1,400 animals including a herd of pygmy hippopotamuses and Przewalski horses, in addition to other animals. The latter only live in captivity, while many of the other zoo residents can be found in the wild in small numbers, such as snow leopards. Known for its successful breeding methods, the zoo shelters new animal babies--it is not uncommon to see a new cub or chick trotting after their mother in the habitats. You can purchase tickets at the attraction for a very affordable price, so consider taking a taxi to the zoo to save time. While there is no restaurant here, a cafe near the exit serves snacks and drinks. • I took a group of students from England to visit the zoo as they were studying animal management for a level 3 qualification and I thought it would be good to compare with English zoos. Although there...  more »
  • So many animals! So much fun! Recommend for couples, families, older, younger, kids-for everyone! Super experience. Very, very many animals. In the season of mass of people, but it is not as burdensome as it seems at first glance. The lack of possibilities under the same ZOO, but every few minutes runs from the parking lot to the garden bus, also this is not a problem. You have to spend a lot of time to see all the animals, because there are really a lot:)

  • Very cool Zoo. Mid-size as the Polish standards, located in the Centre of the Bois de Wolski, where as in Kraków, is very good. Enclosures and cages are well spaced, and the species is quite a bit. Pets kept in decent conditions. A must for fans of zoology.
