Krakow Zoo (Ogrod Zoologiczny), Krakow

4.1
#1 of 19 in Parks in Krakow
Just outside the city, Krakow Zoo (Ogrod Zoologiczny) rests on a Jurassic plateau in a 17 hectare (42 acre) area. It is home to more than 1,400 animals including a herd of pygmy hippopotamuses and Przewalski horses, in addition to other animals. The latter only live in captivity, while many of the other zoo residents can be found in the wild in small numbers, such as snow leopards. Known for its successful breeding methods, the zoo shelters new animal babies--it is not uncommon to see a new cub or chick trotting after their mother in the habitats. You can purchase tickets at the attraction for a very affordable price, so consider taking a taxi to the zoo to save time. While there is no restaurant here, a cafe near the exit serves snacks and drinks. • Perfect location in the charming Wolski Park away from the hustle and bustle of getting very good bus 134 from the Cracovia stadium under the same gate of the zoo one of the best zoo which was purely the well-kept zoo and animal paddocks, you can spend a nice day in the silence of the the Zoo is parking so you can also drive, I recommend to anyone who will be in Krakow to visit this place.

  • I was there few days ago. It's a place were you can really rest from loud and stinky city. There is so quiet and a lot of green. So many animals from all of the world even if the weather isn't so good  more »
  • Prior to visiting the zoo I had read mixed reviews so wasn’t sure what to expect. We visited in winter months (Feb 18) and there was actually snow around, but despite this we still had a good time and...  more »

  • Its a gorgeous zoo with a good selection of animals to see. They also had a peacock just dandering around which was pretty cool! The food and gift shop were also pretty cheap. It's easily accessible as well with a bus stop right beside it.
  • Amazing zoo, large variety of animals and they look very well treated. Nevertheless this zoo is full of green areas which makes the visit even more pleasant. Couldn’t recommend more.
  • Great day out , was very warm so a lot of the animals were resting in the shade , who could blame them, 18 zł to get in , thought this was very reasonable . We waited 45 mins to get in as big Q, and this was also on a sunday. Would recomend a visit , you get there on the 134 bus outside the cracovia stadium , it takes you right there only 2:80 zł.
  • Nice place and great collection of animals but some of them are kept in disgracefully small cages and they seemingly have a hard time in there. It broke our heart to watch the jungle cat walk round and round in its small cage like some madman..
  • the zoo is currently under reconstruction but there are still animals you can see, the entry charge is really cheep and the zoo is quite nice even in winter. It is a bit far from the city, only bus that will take you there is bus 134 (you can change for it from the National museum bus stop for example).
