Franciscan Church (Kosciol Franciszkanow), Krakow

(4.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Home of a replica Shroud of Turin, Franciscan Church (Kosciol Franciszkanow) was one of the first tall buildings in the city. The church touts remarkable stained-glass windows and murals by Stanisław Wyspiański. Because of the colored-glass panes, the interior bursts with bright hues on sunny days, highlighting other spots of inspiration like the tiles and vivid paint colors. The church is rarely crowded. Photos are allowed in certain areas of the building. • The Interior captivates, but when it comes to the masses, I recommend a less crowded place. Famous is the Sunday evening mass for students. If you're going with your family, then I suggest you choose another mass-can załapiecie on the seats

  • the lack of information about artists of frescoes and stained glass Windows in a visible place in front of the Church. Freedom of movement after the object outstanding

  • The story is not quite as big and impressive as the St. Mary's Church, but equally worth a visit. From the outside it does not immediately catches the eye, so it is also not so full there. To highlight are beautiful stained-glass Windows and the walls decorated with various flower motifs. This "ordinary" flowers such as pansies and buttercups are represented, what we liked especially well. The decoration is designed in the art nouveau style, I knew that not even from churches. Everything is very colourful and full of beautiful details. The Church can enter free of tourists, except during the fair. Absolutely worth seeing!
