  • While on tour in Krakow, we visited a beautiful place that is located close to the Wawel Castle but is rarely visited by tourists. Front page, the Baroque facade with stately dwubiegowymi stairs, leading to the Interior of the temple, to the finest in Krakow. These stairs were rebuilt with considerable verve and elegance in 1892 the year thanks to the generosity of the people whose names are engraved on the granite steps. Surrounded by a stone balustrade, leads to the adjacent to the entrance of semicircular terrace, decorated with the stone Gallery, which offers great views of the monastery gardens, the nearest surroundings Rocks, jutting toward the sky Gothic churches and located by the Vistula old detached Foothills. In the basement is the entrance to the crypt. The monumental façade of the Church, is decorated with two high towers, cozy dining room beautiful, Baroque helmets (1762r.). It involves the lower parts of the towers in one pilastrowaną mug with decorative portal of semicircular Doric columns, which the entablature is surmounted by a closed arch pediment. Upper floor is decorated with a triangular top with sculpted dial have been holding Pauline. At the top of the façade bears the symbolic armor. Michael the Archangel, the first Patron Saint of klippen Church, and from the side of the Vistula River, in the consummation of the walls of the presbytery are the insignia of Episcopal authority second Patron-Saint. Stanislaus. The Church is a three-aisled Basilica, built on the plan of the rectangle, with the chancel with a width equal to the nave. On the sides of the chancel are rectangular, covered by the common block with side naves: from the South, on the ground floor of the former Treasury replaced temporarily in the premises of the brotherhood of guardian angels (now a Museum), with a library on the first floor, while the North-sacristy, with religious oratory on the floor. On the walls of the Church are numerous busts-m.in. St Augustine Kordeckiego, defender of Jasna Góra (according to the design of Charles Knausa, executed by Tolę Certowiczównę in the 1902r.), Jan Długosz (by Sigismund Hendla) and made by Adam Wojnar in 1981, the bust of John Paul II commemorating the stay of the Pope on the cliff 8 June 1979. There are also numerous epitaphs and commemorative plaques associated with the traditions of the Polish nation orężnych battles with the invaders. P o l I n e c a m!!!

  • This beautiful church is most of the time not crowded. The lays a bit down the normal path around Kraków but it worth the detour. If there is a long line at Wawel Cathedral you can go here to have a look around.
  • In my opinion the most beautiful church in Cracow.
  • The Church of St. Stanislaw (Kosciól na Skalce, "Church on the Rock") is a Paulite church and monastery on the banks of the Vistula River in Krakow. It is dedicated to St. Stanislaw, the bishop of Krakow who was murdered on this site on orders of the king in 1079.
  • Beautiful church where Saint Stanislaus was beheaded. It is a little off the beaten path, so not as crowded as Wawel or any of the other popular sites.
  • Beautiful
