  • According to the historical sources about 1350 years East of the Church. Catherine was the Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint of witches. Mary Magdalene. The chapel originally consisted of two floors separated by a wooden ceiling. The entrance was located in the East wall. Probably at the same time as and chapel was built not available currently Tower staircase. Many years later the chapel of witches was rebuilt, and then incorporated into a monastery church. Near the Chapel, Orvieto's 14th-century legend of the Blessed Virgin was released, which gave rise to the belief in the healing power of water produced from a well. Of this fact they say the medieval documents related to the history of Gdańsk. The existing wells and the women's Association, called the lingering kalorycznymi magdalenkami led a pious life. At that time there was in Gdansk, any female order. These are the gdańskie pokutnice have become at the end of the 14th century the genesis of the monastery of Saint. Bridget.

  • attended great wedding there
  • The Church probably great ... probably because wishing to enter with children to show them a dignified place it turned out that I have to buy a ticket ... seriously?? The Church is probably a public place. When I use przykleknac and pomodlic need to pay? ... avoid at all cost!.

  • Many thanks to all visitors of the Basilica of St. Bridget in Gdańsk and make a small donation by purchasing a brick entry for "Amber Altar" which is a vote of gratitude to Divine Providence for the gift of freedom.
