Old Town, Gdansk

Neighborhood
Old Town represents a historic section in one of Poland's first cities. Although much of this area features post-World War II reconstructions, you'll also have a chance to experience the spirit of the Middle Ages as you explore. Begin at the famed city hall, constructed in the final decades of the 14th century when Teutonic Knights ruled this region. The imposing five-story building, topped by a gilt statue of King Sigismund Vasa, houses a renowned museum dedicated to the history of the city. As you continue, admire the many Gothic and Baroque buildings that appear frozen in time from centuries ago. • The old town of Gdansk is beautiful, buildings typical must-see museums, many small shops, a treat. The only downside, the constant demands of "touts" for restaurants, attractions, vehicles etc... Some will appreciate maybe, but not us.

  • A large seaside town with a quaint Center at the mouth of two rivers, which lived moments of extraordinary and dramatic history. Magnificent churches and palaces, typical streets and shops, the buildings well rebuilt after World War II, and the whole community with the port in the center of the trade by sea and land, in all ages up to the present day. Just outside of town, Woods and an airport well connected with comfortable low cost flights, and the bus in 20 minutes to reach the old town. Ideal for short break at reasonable prices, including youth and typical local restaurants with good fish.
