A centerpiece for the city's main square, Neptune's Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna) serves as a meeting place for many locals because of its central location in Dluga Targ. Constructed in the mid-16th century, the bronze scupture of the sea god is so valuable to the city that it was dismantled before the German invasion and kept safe. The architecture around the attraction also makes a fine backdrop for photos.  Make Neptune's Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna) a part of your Gdansk vacation plans using our Gdansk trip itinerary builder website.

  • You will pass by this fountain no matter, so it's just nice to have seen it and just because it's there. Too bad it was not lighted up at night.

  • Cool statue (well, fountain, but it wasn't running in cold November) in a beautiful part of Gdansk. Makes for a nice addition to Dlugi Square.

  • Lovely to visit and well kept and in the heart of the city so can easily be found. Would recommend visiting when in Gdańsk.

  • Gdansk is so beautiful I could not recommend it highly enough. You could sit all day and just look at the buildings and the world pass you by. It's so reasonably priced too. I had two of the nicest meals I've ever eaten in Gdansk and these were both in high tourist areas which says a lot for the quality of food. It is a city break that ticks so many boxes although I think children would be bored, it's definitely more of a grown ups get away.
  • It is a wonderful accessible for wheelchair path place to stroll around in the old city center of Gdansk at any time of the day. Early in the morning there very few people, the birds flying and singing. At the day time the restaurants and shops start to work so you can have a bite and enjoy the souvenirs. In the evening is the most lively athmosphere is waiting for you due to the musicians giving their concerts every single evening in front of the Fountain and from the side of the Green Gate too. If you want to take nice pictures of the Fountain with the National History Museum try the morning hours. If you are interested in the shots with the background of the Long Market evening time will be good. If you pick up T-Bone restaurant or any other near the Green Gate before the sunset, you will enjoy both the meals and the view!
  • Whole Gdaňsk is a really beautiful town. I was surprised to find out that it is SO nice. A lot of monuments to watch there, nice church, wonderful coffee, and generally nice people too. Really recommended.
  • I still have a picture of this on my computer. I visited and loved the old cobblestone streets and the food that I ate there.
  • Lovely photo spot in Gdansk. Enjoy the surrounding cafe as they are not that much expensive yet!
