Neptune's Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna), Gdansk

4.3
A centerpiece for the city's main square, Neptune's Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna) serves as a meeting place for many locals because of its central location in Dluga Targ. Constructed in the mid-16th century, the bronze scupture of the sea god is so valuable to the city that it was dismantled before the German invasion and kept safe. The architecture around the attraction also makes a fine backdrop for photos.  Make Neptune's Fountain (Fontanna Neptuna) a part of your Gdansk vacation plans using our Gdansk trip itinerary builder website .

  • Interesting fountain, from anywhere you want to look at, offers great views for pictures; It's pretty, but nothing to do with other fountains ...

  • Located at the confluence of Long Street and the long market fountain with a statue of Neptune, more than 380 years impresses with its viewers. Its location in front of the Artus is not left to chance (I recommend to rummage in the wise books:-)) Neptune-God of the seas and oceans is from the Polish Kings, who wizytując Gdansk, lived in kamieniczkach vis a vis the Artus Court. Currently is the head looking at the vast numbers of tourists wishing to see its Majesty and make a commemorative photo to attach to them, it's your obligation to travel!

  • Nice tourist attraction. Quite a lot of people, but relaxed atmosphere. Good for walks.
  • Great fountain with a beautiful statue. Plenty of tourists crowding around it to take a picture. My friend insisted on getting a photo so we had to wait 5 minutes to get close enough to take one but it was worth it.
  • Very nice statue. But I believe in my heart that he is Poseidon 😂
  • It is a statue. So what can I say. When there are loads of tourists around taking a nice picture can be bit challenging.
  • Beautiful fountain in downtown Gdansk. Definitely make time to see if in the area.
