Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci
Celebrating the bravery of the Polish solidarity movement, Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci includes exhibition halls, a theater, and impressive architecture. Reopened in 2014, the attraction's building is as much a reason to visit as the engaging exhibits. Designed to resemble a ship's hull, the structure pays tribute to its location in the shipyards. Inside the "ship's hull," historical exhibits tell the story of Poland's fight against Russia through videos, audio recordings, and documents accompanied by visuals and interactive displays. Visit the attraction's website for a calendar of upcoming events and to purchase tickets in advance. Work out when and for how long to visit Europejskie Centrum SolidarnoSci and other Gdansk attractions using our handy Gdansk tour planner.

Interesting and interactive exhibition. Free access access to a rooftop with an amazing view on the Gdańsk shipyard and old town. Long opening hours , a canteen with reasonable prices and huge foyer make it a good choice not only for a stop to get warm when walking around shipyard but also for a rainy day in Gdansk.

Superb museum/centre that tells the story of the movement Solidarity. As my family was involved with the movement it has a very special place in my heart. My wife is English and she was in tears having seen and heard the exhibits. I wholly recommend this place as a must see when in Gdansk.

Incredible museum – insightful, accessible and absolutely fascinating. Normally I don’t love an audio tour but this one was brilliant. Can’t recommend this museum highly enough for an introduction to the Solidarity movement and thoughtful, interactive explanation of it. We visited the morning before we left and spent about three hours here, which felt like enough for a good overview.

This is a fantastic interactive museum that really thought me about what happened in Poland and Eastern Europe in 1980's. I knew of it but this went into the detail about how it came about. I loved how much thought went into how it's designed and telling the story in an engaging way. My only complaint is it closed too early for me and 3 hours wasn't enough to see everything i wanted!

Very inspirational visit. Solidarność! Not the cheapest museum around (even with my student discount) but worth the price. The audio guide here has a screen too that shows you where to go or what to look at if the audio isn't specific enough, really helps you out. With the guide it's around 3-4 hours depending on how deeply you look into the exhibits. If you were thorough - probably 6 hours you'd need. Tour ends with heading up to the observation deck. They point out things like where such and such happened and it's crazy because the things they described in the museum, now you're looking at it. From afar of course but it's visible. The deck is totally exposed to the elements so bring your jacket when you head up there (if during the cold month).
