  • Great use of a beautiful building with interesting and stunning exhibits. The stairs will burn off some of the Gdansk cakes too.
  • I'm local and went to see out of curiosity and not expected much, but left the place positively surprised. The collection is bigger than I expected. Some of the amber things are a real masterpiece. I ...  more »
  • The Museum is housed in the former prison of Gdansk, if you like amber and all the things that you can do with the is the ideal place. But is that, 4 floors full of amber. At the end of the visit, you go through what is left of the old prison, where they have exposed cells and different types of medieval torture.

  • Amazing museum. Well worth the admission price. So many different kinds of amber, very informative with many descriptions of what you're looking at - where it's from, how old it is, how big, what's inside it (if anything). Staff stand around as well to give you additional information as well. Note that it is quite an exercise, as you have to keep on climbing up and up from room to room, floor to floor.
  • I like this museum, there are lots of amber objects, someone is wonderful. And on monday morning it is free :D
  • You get to see a lot of amber and there are some decent interactive things with a bunch of interesting facts about amber in English
  • Very nice and cheap museum. It is structured over different levels. You get to know each and every use of the amber, as well its history and origins. For a couple of euros more you also have access to the observation point on the top of the tower where the musuem is located. From there you have a stunning view of the old town of Gdańsk.
  • Very Interesting place showing everything or almost everything about gold of the north - the amber. Like most of its kind it offers free visits once a week, however not always all exhibitions are available for visitors. Highly recommended.
