Fountain Landmark
At Dancing Fountain, observe colored jets of water and shooting laser lights moving to the sounds of pop music. The Korean-designed fountain dominates the square, nestled between important buildings, such as the town’s cathedral and the city hall. When night falls, the fountain becomes a gathering place for tourists, lovers, and families with children. Watch kids running around and jumping through the jets of water, while romantic cavaliers propose to their chosen sweethearts. • This place is only good see at night or when the fountains are on. In the morning it looks like any ordinary plaza. Sometimes, the water here is also dirty.
  • I stumbled upon the Dancing Fountains show by accident. There was not much to do in Vigan, so I just sat by the fountains before sunset watching the world go by and enjoying the gradual change of pace as the place got darker. It struck me that more and more people were gathering around the fountains, which triggered a memory of something I had read in some guide about a fountain show. As you can tell, it was not something that I was specifically seeking, but I thought "well here I am, so I might as well catch the start of it". The show started at 7.30, but once I caught the start I could not tear myself away! I just kept thinking "this is good, just another 5 minutes more..." The combination of varied music, dancing water fountains and a multicoloured light show kept me there a further 45 minutes! That is a pretty long time for someone who is not particularly fussed about water fountain shows. In short, I was pleasantly surprised, particularly in such a small town that offered little else in terms of entertainment!
  • Very amazing and relaxing lights and sound show. It must be included in one's itinerary.
  • Comparing to the Symphony of Lights in HK this Light Show was worth the wait! Make sure to arrive early if you want to grab the best seats.
  • Nice place. Wide open spaces. Lots of shade around the fountain and offers a good 360 view of the heart of the city.

Where to stay in Vigan

With the main places to see in Vigan located on Crisologo Street, you'll find the primary accommodations in town close by. The pedestrianized street houses few accommodations itself, but the connecting roads offer some luxury and mid-range hotels set in atmospheric colonial-era buildings. The further you get from the cobbles of Crisologo, the more modern the accommodations, with newly built hotels in both the north and south of town, and some particularly budget-friendly options located along Liberation Boulevard as it crosses the river to the east.
