Bantay Bell Tower, Vigan

(300+ reviews on the web)
Observation Deck Landmark
Adjacent to Bantay Church, Bantay Bell Tower served as a watchtower for centuries, protecting against pirates and robbers since 1591. The Neo-Gothic tower stands out with its vibrant red brick color and use of clay. Although the steep stairs will likely leave you breathless, you'll find a piece of history at the top, in the form of the old bells locals used to ring to alarm the village in case of emergency. Surely, the vista of the deep blue South China Sea, mountains, green valleys, and the small village of bundled white houses will make all your aches seem worth it. Plan your Bantay Bell Tower visit and explore what else you can see and do in Vigan using our Vigan itinerary maker.
