Cambugahay Falls, Siquijor Island

Admire multi-tiered cascades fed by burbling springs at Cambugahay Falls, featuring a popular swimming hole surrounded by lush jungle. Track the falls down their three tiers to the most popular swimming spot below the final level, with a relatively deep basin offering plenty of room for splashing around. Alternatively, you can bring a picnic, kick back on the shore, and listen to the splashing water come down. Use extra caution with your valuables when visiting the falls, as some visitors have reported petty theft as a recurring issue in this area. • Beautiful falls with rope swings and warm water. Be sure to go early to avoid crowds! I was there around 10:00 AM and it was not crowded, but my guide told me they come around 11:00 AM. It's 50 pesos for unlimited swings on any one rope swing, but you have to pay again to swing on a different one. There are guides who will carry and watch your things for an undefined 'love offering'. I paid 140, which seemed pretty high for the helpful dude I got, but I did have him for about 90 minutes. 100 is probably generous, 50 probably the lowest I would feel comfortable paying but I didn't get any help from him when I asked how much he usually got. The upper falls has a small cave, as well as a hose with water piped down from the source. I drank it and it tested great, and with no known ill effects. My guide also took me beyond the "don't go past this point" sign, which he said was only for tourists without guides, and he showed me another pool that was nice and unpopulated except for a nice old man talking a bath.
  • Go there early and enjoy it without any tourist. We arrived at 8:30 and stayed for over an hour. It was great, mainly if you like jumping in big waterfalls
  • The falls is nice. It takes about 150 steps (according to the locals) going down to the falls. It has tour guides that are well-trained. No fixed payment for them. Just donation, depends on how much you'll give them.
  • Beautiful waterfall one of the best I've seen. Very relaxed and not too touristy so you can have a swim alone. Really cool cave bits under waterfalls and unlimited swing jumps for only 50 pesos - can't say no to that! #bargain
  • You don't need to trek just to reach the falls of Cambugahay. You only need to take few steps down from the road. The locals there offer life vests for rent and they also have manmade vines if you want to plunge into the water like Tarzan. They are charging a small fee for these. The place is very fascinating and enchanting.
