Sumaguing Cave, Sagada

(4.7/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Known by its nickname "Big Cave," Sumaguing Cave has the largest chambers of any cave in the area. Experience this natural wonder and its limestone formations via guided walking tours or spelunking. Though the latter is more adventurous, the former is very informative and entertaining. But be warned--if you have a fear of heights or tight spaces, this attraction may not be right for you. • Nice cave but you need to be fit with good balance. It is very slippery and steep in parts - need to use hands to get across many sections. In the lower part you take your shoes off to get enough grip...  more »

  • One of the most beautiful and adventurous experiences ever! The cave is absolutely gorgeous, and it's super fun swimming in the bottom pool. You'll need a guide though, as it's dangerous by yourself and you may loose the way.
  • Awesome experience! We did the short tour because we have limited time but still we had fun! It helps to be wearing light weight clothes that easily dries up.
  • Awesome! A bit of challenge especially during wet season - the stones going down are slippery + the water inside the cave is so cold.
  • We did the long tour - spelonking between two caves. No one warned us to be prepared to go in the tightest holes and stand on the edge of cliffs inside the cave. As I am slightly afraid of hights it was a challenge for me. But it was so well worth it. Everywhere in the western world you would be asked to sign different instruction sheets and have insurance but here it is on your own risk. And once you start it there is no turning back
  • Be prepared, be very prepared! Climbing, jumping, swinging, hole diving (literally diving into holes), a lot of hiking and activities that you'll never thought you can do. Note: once you enter, there is no going back! Tip: remember to buy a souvenir shirt saying "I survived Sagada!"
