(180+ reviews on the web)
Hiking Trail Nature / Park
Visitors are welcome to shout it out at at Echo Valley. Take a walk through nature to the viewpoint, from which you can see the main attraction of the valley--the coffins hanging from a cliff. This type of burial is traditional for the Igorot culture (they perform it because they believe the higher the deceased are, the closer they are to heavens). Most visitors can't resist shouting out so they can hear their own voice come back to them, thus the name. Arrange to visit Echo Valley and other attractions in Sagada using our Sagada holiday planner.

  • Want some quick adventure in sagada? Well, this ones a surviving one as the steep path will surely slow you down. Reminder: take a guide before entering a place, do not listen to SOMEBODY as its a waste of time they say.
  • Disappointing. With all respect due to the igorot culture, this is ancestor cult and not a touristic attraction. One gets in, see a couple of coffins 7m high and gets out. Though it means alot to Igorot people, it's nothing great to tour for a foreigner. Luckily the tour guide was very friendly and talkative.
  • One can never fully rate culture and how open the people of Sagada are for welcoming people a glimpse of their tradition.
  • Wonderful location. Try to go there in the last hour before dusk and access from the northern end. The ambiance is tremendous.
  • Don't enter the park without a guide. The locals might tell you it's fine without a hiring a guide - don't believe them or else you'll be wasting your time. Your privileges won't work here. Get a guide like we did.
