University of the Philippines, Quezon City

4.6
Stroll along the leafy, wide roads between colleges at University of the Philippines. The campus of the university is also the site of the national science complex, which includes facilities for marine science, geology, physics, biology, and mathematics. Take a turn on the university's main road, and stop at the amphitheater. Don't miss the carillon tower with its 46 bronze bells, and look for the sundial, designed by alumni engineers to honor their alma mater. • It was so nice to reminisce my college years! We went to watch Haruki Murakami`s film Tony Takitani. The university has changed over the years. There are new buildings amidst the old ones of my youth....  more »
  • The entrance to the university is very impressive. I was lucky to come here with a local student so had a very interesting tour of the grounds and there are things to see here if you get to this part ...  more »

  • If you reside in Marikina, there are two ways in getting into UP. Point of origin as an example would be Concepcion church. Ride a jeepney or an FX going to Cubao and the drop off point would be the Petron station before the LRT-Katipunan station. Then there are jeepneys with signboards that says UP IKOT. or the Tumana route. from Concepcion church walk towards Tumana jeepney terminal or have a 20 peso tricycle ride to Tumana. Then pay 8 pesos for the fixed fare. The drop off point would be beside MWSS and UP Ayala Land. Then wait for a UP IKOT jeepney. hope this helps
  • You'll forget that you're in the middle of the city once you enter the campus. The place offers a relaxing atmosphere with numerous trees dotting the university. The architecture of the buildings blends well with their surroundings and are timeless. It's no surprise so many people prefer to jog and bike here.
  • Best place to jog or take refuge from hustle and bustle of urban life. I love the smell of acacia trees, the sun flower during UP's graduation, very serene . It is a quick escape from noise of the city. You can take picture of famous oblation (replica). Take note that the original piece cam be found in the main library near AS. I love everything here . It brings back memories.
  • This is a great place not only for a students/professors but also to visitors. This place is so relaxing some used to jog or bike in morning/afternoon. You can also enjoyed the trees and greens plants here as they are stress relievers for some and very pleasant to eyes.
  • For five months, I had my painting workshop here. This is the perfect place for landscapes and group activity since there are many open areas in the campus. It is an English speaking school and you can freely ask anyone and converse if you are a foreigner. The buildings are old looking but built in a sophisticated design. There are many cheap food stalls inside the campus too and budget friendly shops inside. They also had tons of activities for outsiders and for students!
