  • To go to the Davis run! Mass tourism. You are constantly quinned by beach vendors and other people who want to sell you something. Could be nice here, but tourism has broken everything again here. Then I have gone again.

  • Loud music, many beach vendors, countless bars making noise, over a hundred motorboats in the water. Just not worth seeing. You can't relax here! To eat in the evening ok!

  • in the evening, you can chillax with friends and family while taking in the nice cool breeze and iced cold drinks; in the early morning (before sunrise), great to take a stroll as you can see innkeepe...  more »

  • The very first time I set foot on this beach was in 1981. It was fabulous. Not a tourist, resort, or even other human being in sight. The northern end of this 850m long stretch of sand was actually the cemetery for the nearby village (as it traditionally has been for many small villages on many islands in this country). To have walked that pristine white sand in '81, when I was 20yrs old, and now have to weave my way around tourists who come from all walks of life and now arrive in droves, staying at hundreds of resorts, small and large, is s culture shock the likes of which I never thought I would ever experience. In just my lifetime, I have witnessed Alona Beach go from paradise to garbage-ville. It so saddens me. I spent some of the best days of my life here. Gone forever, like footprints in the sand, disappeared by the rising tide of development. Heavy sigh... ☹️
  • The beach is nice and chilled. With lots of restaurants and bars around. You can also buy some mango steens and other street food to the beach, enjoy the food and this breathtaking view.
  • As of February 2019 the beach was very clean and the water was beautiful. There are sectioned off parts now that are only for swimming so the boats don’t clog up the beach.
  • Nice beach with very pleasant sand, unfortunately very busy, what makes it also relatively expensive... but it’s nice place to spend a few hours chilling with cold drinks 😊 (Beautiful Christmas decorations in December 2018)
  • A beach is a beach is a beach. Very beautiful views, yet the main spots covered by shade were reserved by hotels and restaurants, so if you didn't order from them..well, then.. no shade for you.
