  • What do you get when you allow however many people and business and whatever sort of elements to flood a place? A sad situation. You can tell a lot about people by what you see. And by what I saw, I s...  more »
  • We stayed in one of the resorts directly on Alona Beach. It's mostly a white sand beach. Small coral pieces and shells can be found on the beach. Sea weed seems to me minimal and is mostly removed. Th...  more »

  • I love it here! One of the nicest public beaches in the country. There are so many dining options here and also during daytime, there are so many choices for fun activities. Accommodations range from affordable to posh and it is pretty crowded being one of Bohol’s top tourist attractions. Nevertheless, I always love to stay in this area when I visit Bohol.
  • The beach is beautiful but very crowded. There are lots of bars along the beach. Good for party people! There are restaurants that offer fresh seafood and they will cook it for you but it's expensive.
  • Busy, bustling tropical paradise. Warm water, soft sand, fruit smoothies and lots of delicious food options - Alona Beach is paradise. For the most relaxing experience, be sure to head to the left or right side of the beach (away from the main crowds). To the left, the other side of Hannan Resort has a lovely quiet cove to relax in the sun for hours. To the right, there's a pretty spot to jump in from the rocks, and (if you can find it), a quiet cove that has a much, much quieter beach to relax on.
  • A nice and clean stretch of beach but relatively small. A couple of hotels front the beach and make up a bit of it. This is a public beach so access is free and quite easy to get to. There are a few restaurants and smaller hotels lining the beach. Food is easily available here and the choices are amazing.
  • Alona Beach in Bohol is nice but I definitely prefer Panglao. But if you're the type of person who enjoys a very crowded area, lots of happenings and partying all night, then Alona is definitely for you. Alona has a very long stretch of different shops from souvenirs and food. Grab your tours (sight seeing/diving/island hoping, etc) in Alona Beach, they are definitely cheaper than the ones offered in the hotels or resorts.
