Tumalog Falls, Oslob

4.4
#2 of 65 in Parks in Cebu Island
With their silky water curtain reflecting the sunlight, Tumalog Falls create a picturesque vision set in the midst of lush tropical vegetation. Dip in a chest-deep blue pond underneath the falls, and feel the spray from the moss-covered limestone cascade. From the registration area, take the five-minute downhill walk along a narrow steep tarmac road to the site. Rent snorkeling equipment, take a boat tour, or opt for one of the canyoneering tours offered in the area. • Interesting nature, mountains, jungle, waterfalls. Go down to the waterfall and climb back on foot. Local blocking on bikes there back for 15 pesos = for the lazy.

  • To get to the falls, tell the taxi to take you to Tumalog Falls. They will drive you to the top of a hill where you can either walk down to the falls yourself, or rent a moped to drive down. It is a steep hill so I was very scared to drive myself down, but if you can control a moped and do not like walking up steep hills, it's a great option. Once down the hill you're greeted by Tumalog Falls. Very beautiful, and I wish I had brought a picnic to eat, so I could enjoy spending more time by it. If you wear your bathing suit, you can wade in the water below the falls. It is very shallow and goes up to waist height at most. The falls are very soft and you can stand under it easily. The falls may dry up in the dry season, but we went during the dry season and it was still very beautiful and photogenic.
  • When we went the falls were minimal but still breathtaking. Water is refreshing but freezing. Surrounded by bamboo forests this place is tranquil and beautiful. We paid the locals to take us up the hill on their motorcycles. Would recommend that because the hill to get up it is crazy steep and long.
  • The way back to Parking space is horrible. Not good for old or very small persons. We was weekday lowseason and we was alone there. Very nice cold and clean water.
  • The fall is pretty impressive. You can go by bus (we did every thing by bus, is save, cheap and efficient) and then take a motorcycle ride to the falls (if you ask for a discount: 60 pesos). It is not good swim though, the water level is low and the water is freaking cold.
  • Really nice place and a must view when you are on whaleshark watching tour in oslob .
