  • This is one of the country's most popular "beginner" hikes. If you're an American, it is a "moderate" hike. The Philippines is one of the countries where outdoor infrastructure is not mass-funded so o...  more »
  • We climbed Mt. Batulao as our training climb for our Mt. Pulag trek. We took Old Trail for ascent and then new trail for descent. This is a relaxing easy climb which you could finish 6 hours with lots...  more »
  • They say Mt.Batulao is "beginner-friendly" and considered to be a "minor" climb, but if this is your first hike i would still suggest that you go jogging or hit the gym a month prior to your hike. The...  more »

  • One of the most beautiful mountains in Batangas. It offers a stunning panoramic view of the fields in the province. It is a relatively easy climb.
  • They say its for beginners, but getting into the summit was never a joke, It was a nice experience though.
  • I had my first solo climb here during my 30th birthday. They have stores every station that sells snacks and drinks. It is mainly grasslands up there so better bring an umbrella or wear a cap when hiking.
  • Nice place, nice people, great for camping. I love the clear sky at night! Additional tip: The 2nd registration that asked for 30php/head is illegal, we didn't pay them. They issue no receipt and added no value to the place they just ruin the experience by extorting money from the climbers. Hope the DOT would do something about it.
  • This mountain in one of my favorite. And one of the primary reason is its location. You can take the bus from Manila going to Balayan, Lemery or Lian. And you don't need a guide to hike this mountain. 2 trails available - The old trail and the new trail. If you are a beginner or if its your first time to hike, you may to take the new trail. But if you want some challenge, then take the old trail. Always check the weather forecast before you hike. When its cloudy - it is cloudy.
