  • I was disappointed and for me that was just a lost of time. Go and visit the Public Market or the City Park with Train from the Suger Factory inside... children like that more than a boring "Museum.  more »
  • I went there last month and I was happy to see antique items that are still usable. Although, there are few things to see, some of them are covered with dust. During my visit, old books are pilled up....  more »
  • It is rare to go into a small town and find a museum like we found in Medellin, Cebu. We were attracted to the rustic architecture of the museum and went it. We asked the lady manning the place if...  more »

  • MUSEO DE MEDELLIN Built in the early 1900s, the Museo de Medellin, formerly known as the Tumulak Ancestral House was the home of the late mayor Victor Tumulak. During Mayor Tumulak’s time, this building was the place for gathering, for its location is very strategic. It is placed at the heart of the municipality, across the Parish Church and near the sports complex. In the 1960s, the same building accommodated the first high school in the municipality- Holy Name School. Years later, the high school was transferred to its newly constructed building. Thereafter, the building was abandoned for years. 2007, the building was renovated. The ground floor of the building became a museum while the second floor, housed the community based training center for high speed sewing. Now, the lot and the building which houses the museum is owned by former mayor Manreza P. Lim. By joint agreement with the municipality of Medellin and Mayor Lim’s family, the building was refurbished, beautified and transformed into a museum. The ground floor of the museum highlights the traditional carabao drawn sugar mill or “intosan”, some religious artifacts, traditional banca and vintage musical instruments. The second floor, called as the “lifestyle museum” features, wooden furnitures and brasswares. It also gives us a glimpse of the house interiors from way back. Museo de Medellin was formally launched last June 12,2017. It is open Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. -S.M.Embalzado
