Where to stay in Manila

Manila has the full spectrum of hospitality options, from highly affordable hostels you can book on the spot to luxury four- and five-star resorts. Opt to stay in mid-range and upscale hotels clustered around the central business district, or score sea views at the resorts facing Manila Bay. If you choose to go for the budget-friendlier hostel, note that many have large dorm rooms with many bunk beds, catering primarily to job-seekers, while others are designed for young backpackers looking to make new friends.

  • This is one of the oldest churches in Manila. But I suggest to be careful when visiting this. It's better to be alert but aside from that, one of the prettiest.  more »

  • The Church has undergone renovations with the facade maintaining its baroque-style architecture while the interior is modern.
  • It is good to see that this place of worship is still maintained and well kept so that the next generation will still be able to visit this place also.
  • I've celebrated Mass here on my first Sundays in Manila. The walls are filled of portraits of male and female Saints like Thomas Aquinas, Rose of Lima, and Mother Teresa of Calcutta. The choir has resonating, operatic quality that brings back the hymns of my childhood days. Parking is very limited, though, and traffic can be a problem here. But bus riders to Cavite will appreciate the proximity to the bus stop nearby, since the buses are not as packed with passengers here as they would be in nearby Lawton or Luneta Park.
  • The place is clean. Easy access to transpprtation.
  • Solemn and historic for a relatively small church
