The oldest zoo still operating in Asia, Manila Zoo hosts approximately 1,000 animals across 90 species, including Mali, an Asian elephant residing since 1977. Other animals of the zoo—which opened in 1959--include a Bengal tiger, monitor lizard, Malayan civet, and indigenous species such as long-tailed macaques.   • Of course, it is a very small and modest Zoo, but we would be happy to have walked in the shade of the trees and watched the animals. If you arrive with a child then I advise to visit animal quite well-maintained. Entrance ticket costs 100 pesos.

  • The awful odors can be smelled even at the entrance of the zoo. You'll feel bad about the animals too. It's very apparent that they're not taking care of them properly. On the other hand the playgroun...  more »
