Veiled by the Philippine jungle, Enchanted River springs seemingly out of nowhere and runs a short distance before it flows into the Philippine Sea. A dirt road and uneven pathways with natural steep steps lead you to the river, where you can swim in salt water only 15 m (50 ft) deep, and watch the fish feeding at noon. You can even rent a small boat and sail out to the ocean. The mysterious river has inspired legends of fairies, ancestral spirits, and uncatchable fish that dwell in its jade and sapphire waters. Ongoing explorations of the underground system of caves, which started in 1999, have not yet determined the origin of the river. We went there early morning and it was the perfect time - no crowd and we got to enjoy the view to ourselves (great if you don’t want photobombers in your pics). The water is incredibly blue and clear... more »
It was a good choice to have it rehabilitated and renewed. The tourist spot is organized. When you arrive at the entrance there will be a booth for the entrance fee and an area for you to choose some raw seafood to be cooked on your own choice. Once you pay your entrance fee, a few minutes of orientation will be done. Then, you can board the available shuttle going to the actual site. There's a separate parking space and eating area there. Some applicable fees for rental of tables and chairs on the dining area. Cooked food will be delivered to you once you are settled there. The shuttle ride to the actual site will take about 3 to 5 minutes. It is quite a bumpy ride but it was all worth it. The river was really enchanting (to say the least)! It was glorious and just amazing. The silence was just right to appreciate the river. It was worth the travel. I would love to swim next time in the swimming area.
Best place to escape anytime of the year! The place is really enchanting. Aside from the river itself, they also offer island hopping tour since the river is just near the sea. The tour rates are very affordable and you'll be able to see the beautiful and white islands of eastern Philippines facing pacific ocean.
One of the wonders of the world. The water is crystal clear, cool and salty. This torquise blue water comes from a infinite depth pool which may be a result of some volcanic activity during the stone age. The big fishes in the deep pool surfaces during feeding times and looks like Grouper. The management has done a great job to bar swimming in this super deep pool as there was an fatal incident. Swimmers with life vest are allowed to swim down stream which is shallower and crystal clear too. Further down the river is the boat jetty which takes you to a tour of island hopping where you can swim with stingrays and sharks. The beach and water at Pacific View Resort is enticing
The place is clean and well maintained. You pay 40pesos but it's worth it since the local government has kept the place clean and your 40pesos includes shuttle ride to the river. Thumbs up 👍
I really love the place!! I heard that they won't allow you anymore to swim near the cave(because before, they allow people to swim in there) Clean and well maintained place. Great place!!
