Small Lagoon, El Nido

4.4
#1 of 30 in Parks in El Nido
Enjoy the clear blue water underneath dramatic limestone cliffs fringed with lush greenery at Small Lagoon, a large pool of salt water on Miniloc Island in the middle of Bacuit Bay. Accessible only by swimming or kayaking through a very narrow 0.6-0.9 m (2-3 ft) wide gap in the rock, the remote lagoon offers scenery like that from a postcard, with water so clear that you can see the ocean floor. Rent a kayak moored outside the lagoon early in the morning, and get inside before crowds start paddling in. You can also rent scuba diving equipment, and make sure you bring a waterproof camera along to capture the scenery. • Attention... The access is complicated and even more if there are waves! Same #BeCareful accompanied by a guide... But inside is well worth the trip!

  • Avail of Tour A which will bring you to this beautiful lagoon. It is best explored by kayak so make sure that you have funds for kayak rental.
  • The best lagoon I've been in the Philippines! You must rent the kayak to enjoy and for perfect picture taking! Swimming in this deep and dark water is good though you may get scared of seeing down. :p I could not see the ground of the sea. :)
  • Find a private tour and come here before the crowds. It is so peaceful and beautiful without anyone else here. My wife and I came at 7:30am and left around 8:15, right when the first boat was pulling up for the day. You won't regret it.
  • My favorite island! I could kayaking there. Plus, the water is so clear.💚💜
  • One of the best place to wander!

Where to stay in El Nido

Long since established as a domestic tourist destination, El Nido's growing international reputation has led to a number of eco-tourism and resort-style options popping up in recent years. The main town on the west coast offers the greatest choice, with sprawling luxury resorts, hotels, and guesthouses all enjoying convenient access to the surrounding islands. Staying on one of the islands presents an exciting alternative, although you'll find the choice largely limited to luxury hotels.
