Big Lagoon, El Nido

Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web
The tranquil turquoise-green waters of Big Lagoon lie tucked between magnificent limestone cliffs fringed by tropical vegetation. Showcasing a kaleidoscope of marine life, the spot provides an excellent diving and snorkeling opportunity. Cruise into it with a catamaran and hop off the boat for a pleasant swim, or kayak around to explore all the shades of blue and caves under the dramatically ridged cliffs. Set in the midst of karst formations sheltering clear waters, the lagoon is a breeding ground for numerous fish and crustaceans. Tours usually include an adventure to the island's smaller lagoon nearby and fresh seafood treats. Big Lagoon is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, El Nido Edition.

  • Island hopping is the thing to do in El Nido. Tour A and C are the most popular. Big lagoon is beautiful, with lots of tourists around. If you stay at Cadloa resort you can have lunch on a private beach away from anyone else. That was the highlight in my tours.
  • This is my favorite spot in the whole island hopping experience in El Nido. Kayaking in the peaceful lagoon will surely be the best thing to do in El Nido. Try reaching the furthest part of the lagoon to unearth the hidden beauty of this place. Kayaking fee is only Php 300.00 for a couple of hours.
  • Absolutely wonderful. The lagoon is enclosed all around by limestone islets, making the crystal clear waters calm and still. The air is clean and quiet, and if you can wake up early enough to kayak there ahead of the other tourists, you'll be greeted with a solace so far removed from the influence of humanity that it inspires an air of sacred sanctity.
  • Truly breathtaking, the sort of natural spots you only see in movies. Unfortunately, most of these places are crowded with tourists year round... Still totally worth a visit.
  • Nothing can see inside the big lagoon but the entrance place is the clearest water I've ever seen in my life !! Paradise !!
