People's Park, Davao City
(3.8/5 based on 320 reviews on the web)
Meander your way along the paved paths of People's Park, underneath a giant metal dome inspired by the appearance of the city’s durian fruit. Bordered with over 1,000 species of plant from across the globe, the park attracts visitors primarily for its sculptures of indigenous peoples, created by Mindanao artist Kublai Millan. Relax in quiet serenity, following the colorful promenade across 4 ha (9.8 ac), stopping at the center to enjoy the dancing fountains surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. • My daughter enjoyed going around this park. It is also located in the downtown area so it was accessible. Taxi driver who brought us to this park gave exact change and was really polite and helpful!
  • This is a great place to go for a walk in the morning. On most mornings, hundreds of people are there to exercise. It's minutes from the Marco Polo Hotel.
  • I used to go to this place in the evenings just to relax and to chill. Nice place to kill the time. Some days there are water dance shows, which is beautiful. You can find some nice street food right ...  more »

  • Sometimes I get visitors from abroad and People's Park is on the little circuit of places I like to take them to on my personal tour of Davao City. It is a chance to see Davao people at leisure, admire the statues which abound in the place, enjoy the trees and lush vegetation not to mention the fountain and sunken garden. This place is very well maintained and there is rarely litter visible. I have visited this park many times just to wander about or show people about and I have never been approached by any stranger with any sort of solicitation which makes me think this is a very safe and secure area. In the early morning and early evening the circular arrangement for the main path round this park makes it ideal for exercise, either just brisk walking or jogging. Entrance is free. The downside? : The only downside of this place in this setting is it is often hard to find a parking place in the surrounding streets if you come by car.
  • You'll be amazed by this garden park in the middle of the city. This public space is clean, spacious and well kept.
  • A simple park yet it's one of the few parks I've learned to appreciate. Wide, lively and the feel is just sooo Davao.
  • Free Park in our lovable city. In the heart of the one of the moat liveable city in the world..Davao City.
  • Well-maintained and free from smokers. You can meet a lot of people. Best to visit People's Park in the evening.
