Sunken Japanese Wrecks, Coron

(420+ reviews on the web)
Wildlife Area
Popular with divers from around the world, Sunken Japanese Wrecks allow adventurous underwater explorers to discover a sea plane carrier, cargo vessels, gun boats, and submarine hunters sunk by Americans in 1944. Penetrate engine rooms, machine shop and cargo compartments, or see if you can spot anti-aircraft guns on top decks. Swim with banana fish, giant puffers, sea horses, turtles, and sea snakes, and keep your eyes open for scorpion fish and barracudas. A wreck of a gunboat near Lusong Island covered with hard corals makes a particularly good spot for snorkeling, as well as a decent resting spot between dives. • Coron is surrounded by sunken ships during WWII. Scary as hell, these ships are already covered with corals. The part of the sea they’re in seems shallow because you can see them above the surface but...  more »
  • Otherwise, you can skip this attraction, particularly at high tide. The currents are strong, too! So take care.  more »
