Sunken Japanese Wrecks, Coron
(4.5/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Popular with divers from around the world, Sunken Japanese Wrecks allow adventurous underwater explorers to discover a sea plane carrier, cargo vessels, gun boats, and submarine hunters sunk by Americans in 1944. Penetrate engine rooms, machine shop and cargo compartments, or see if you can spot anti-aircraft guns on top decks. Swim with banana fish, giant puffers, sea horses, turtles, and sea snakes, and keep your eyes open for scorpion fish and barracudas. A wreck of a gunboat near Lusong Island covered with hard corals makes a particularly good spot for snorkeling, as well as a decent resting spot between dives. • We have wanted to dive these wrecks for many years but left it too long. It seems the great visibility of the past has been spoilt by the operations of the proliferation of pearl farms in recent years...  more »
  • It's a nice trip to make as part of other island hoping destinations. We managed to go and touch the wreck. There are lots of fish here and the waters are very clear.
  • The wreck diving was the main purpose of my recent dive trip to Coron. The wrecks are all fairly easily accessible without the need for tech diving gear, and it's actually possible to go inside most o...  more »
