Nalusuan Island Marine Sanctuary, Cordova
(4.2/5 based on 100 reviews on the web)
Nalusuan Island Marine Sanctuary offers a look at a protected reef teeming with marine life. Originally bearing the dubious name of "kalusuan" (literally translated as "a place of penises") due to its abundant sea cucumber population, the island was turned into a resort and was instrumental in protecting the reef from the dynamite fishing techiniques employed by the local fishermen. Only reachable by boat, the island offers day tours or longer stays in its stilted cabins. Don your snorkel and inspect the abundant aquatic creatures living in the protected coral gardens, take scuba diving lessons, or swim in the wide sandbar. • If you like diving Coral reefs then Nalasuan ids the place to be if you are diving in the Cebu / Mactan area. Definately the best preserved hard and soft coral in the area.
  • This island is not far from the island of maektan, but that does not have a Charter bus going into a private island costs 200 pesos per person, but that dude has a lot of fish worth lol.
