  • For most fruits and vegetables, it's hard to beat the prices at Carbon. There is a huge savings over most supermarket prices, though certain vegetables like asparagus and green bell pepper might be cheaper somewhere specializing in imports like S&R. Prices might be higher for foreigners or those that don't know how to haggle, but it's still worth the trip to save over the grocery store.
  • Very crowded public market. Come early morning for best seafood selection. Keep a close eye on your wallet and cell phone. Not a tourist attraction.
  • a place for an affordable and complete cooking, RTW's and many things to buy are found here
  • The best time to do marketing @ Carbon is during night time... good bargain for fruits & vegetables...
  • This place is historic. Filled with wet & dry products from all over town they sell the cheapest and freshest vegetables, fruits, fishes etc. my favorite her is the wet market to buy fresh seafood. Get you lemonsito, cooking oil, eggs & mangoes here for almost 50% the price compared to SM.

Where to stay in Cebu City

The most popular place to stay in Cebu City remains uptown, particularly around the university district near Junquera Street station. Here you'll find a good range of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses of varying quality, but with a well-established base level representing value for money. Further north, look along Dalan Osmena to find a good number of standard and luxury hotels located north and south of the roundabout. The downtown area has more closely knitted streets, with just a few guesthouses located along primarily residential roads.
