(3.9/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Perched on the top of Cebu’s classy Beverly Hills, Taoist Temple stands as an impressive modern place of worship built by the city’s Chinese community in 1972. Entered through a replica of the Great Wall of China after 81 symbollic steps, the temple offers an insight into Chinese folk religions. Standing at an elevation of 300 m (980 ft), the temple's grounds serve as a great platform to relax with a scenic view of the city. Admire a statue of a long green dragon outside the temple garden, or stroll around the complex and simply enjoy the scenery. Volunteers will help you take part in rituals for good luck. • If you visit Cebu City don't forget to add the Taoist Temple in your itinirary, even if you're not Taoist. The place has a tranquil feel, very good for meditation and relaxation. If meditating is not your thing well you can always tour around the place for a bit; they have a mini wall of China, a big dragon statue, and there is an area in the temple that offers a good vantage point to the city... PS Picture taking inside the temple is not allowed. Also, bring water... a lot. You will be needing that once you climb the steep steps of the Temple.
  • Very very beautiful place to visit. This place is so very cool. If you got here it's like you're in China. It was a great experienced. Many people especially tourist visit here everyday. One good thing about Taois Temple, there is no entrance fee it is totally 100% free.
  • The place is very solemn. Highly recommended for those who wants to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can also meditate and pray, a place where you can get in touch with your inner being and refresh or renew spiritually.
  • It was so hot and humid when we came here. I was really not in the mood. Although it's a famous tourist spot in Cebu but I'm not very impressed.
