Marcelo Fernan Bridge, Cebu City

(2.4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
The widest and longest bridge in Cebu, Marcelo Fernan Bridge spans across a sea channel connecting two islands and offering scenic views of the coast on both sides. The Japanese government helped fund the construction of the cable-suspended bridge, which spans over 1,200 m (4,000 ft) and carries the name of Cebu’s former Supreme Court judge and senator. You can either walk on wide pedestrian lanes or drive over the bridge to enjoy the views. The traffic on the bridge gets heavy occasionally, since many cars pass over on their way to the airport. On the Mactan side, visit a small park below the bridge, a favorite gathering place for locals. • beautifully constructed but its difficult to stop by especially on a heavy traffic. for your eyes only. good for a short trip or stop by a minute and admire its beauty
  • This bridge connects Cebu to Mactan. The traffic flows well and smoothly. The bridge design is modern and makes traveling to both cities convenient
  • That bridge is quite an impressive piece of engineering and quite time-saving for local traffic. The independent bus services, which are frequent and cheap, are well off here.

  • The bridge is relatively new and in was funded by a Japanese government 3rd world development fund. This bridge is often the most efficient and quickest way to Mactan and the airport - or it was until the worsening Cebu traffic resulted in transit times of up to one hour to cross the bridge. You are better off in a helicopter
