Colon Street, Cebu City

(1/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Considered the Philippines' oldest road, Colon Street in downtown Cebu features an array of affordable shops and restaurants frequented by locals. Tracing its origins back to the 16th century, when Spanish conquistadores established a colony here, the street remains the heart of commercial activity in town, maintaining a busy, lively atmosphere, and unfortunately attracting an increased amount of criminal activity. Employ basic safety measurements when shopping or sightseeing in this district. • This is one of the busiest part of Cebu. You can buy different items for a very low price and there are times that night markets are held here.
  • .. this street was a nice way to see the local town. It's interesting and vibrant and a good place to grab a bite to eat. Go!
  • This is suppose to be the oldest street in the country. In Cebu, is also used to be the hub of commerce though the place is still dotted with a beehive of activity. You can see much of the history any...  more »

  • Hooray to the oldest street in the Philippines. It's just a walk away from nearby Basilica, Magellan's Cross, Fort San Pedro and the museums.
