A designated national historical landmark, Casa Gorordo Museum details 19th-century life in Cebu City. See the residence of the once-influential Gorordo family, which counts among its members the first bishop of the Cebuano people. Learn about the life of the locals under the Spanish from the various exhibits organized chronologically. The most famous display here remains the figurines that depict the life of Jesus, dating back to the 19th century. • This House-Museum reflects the life of a rich fillipinca. On the islands of many similar objects, but I'm always curious to visit such places. I wonder how was life in the homes of rich men. For example, entry and exit in the women's House was arranged so that the horse buggy was entering and travelled right into the homes to the poor could not discern a rich woman. On the ground floor is arranged a small museum with photos of life of Filipinos and certain exhibits. And the second floor is a full House, with nicely equipped rooms, bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and bathroom with fantastic gorgeous terrace, zapletennoj branches of some exotic tree. At the end of the tour you can visit a small shop with souvenirs and drink a cup of coffee in a decent Café on the ground floor. Visit the House-Museum was part of the program of our Cebu tour and we were happy with a visit to this village. Although I do not know whether it is worth here to go specifically to separately visit this House.

  • Entrance fee is affordable and includes souvenir and earphones, it was worth the price because the tour is very interactive and the guide is very knowledgeable. Modern museum and the tour was the most interesting and educational experience.
  • Very accommodating staff. Entrance fee is affordable and includes souvenir and earphones. Museum guide is extremely knowledgeable and eloquent.
  • The newly renovated Casa Gorordo is better than the previous one. More enriching, more interactive and now focuses not only on the house and Gorordo family as well but the role of the Parian in early Cebu
  • Beautifully remodeled, and the tour was the most interesting and educational experience I had in the Philippines. They do a really good job!
  • Cheapest entrance fee is 120 pesos per head - it comes wiyh a headset, keychain and a booklet. Though a bit pricey compared to other museums itvwas worth the price because the tour is very interactive and the guide is very knowledgeable.

Where to stay in Cebu City

The most popular place to stay in Cebu City remains uptown, particularly around the university district near Junquera Street station. Here you'll find a good range of hotels, hostels, and guesthouses of varying quality, but with a well-established base level representing value for money. Further north, look along Dalan Osmena to find a good number of standard and luxury hotels located north and south of the roundabout. The downtown area has more closely knitted streets, with just a few guesthouses located along primarily residential roads.
