Camiguin Island, Camiguin
Categories: Islands, Nature & Parks
The second smallest in the archipelago, Camiguin Island abounds with white-sand beaches, pristine turquoise sea, steep volcanoes, and fresh exotic fruit. Walk along the fine sandbars and admire the vista of endless horizons, keeping an eye out for the "sunken cemetery," destroyed in a volcanic eruption and marked with a simple cross sticking up from the sea. You can also hike over seven volcanoes boasting waterfalls and alluring vegetation. While trekking in the lavish nature, look for the grape-sized lanzone fruit with translucent flesh and light brown skin--the sweet fruit comes as a welcome refreshment. If the fruit doesn’t do the trick, dip into the cold springs hidden amid the tropical forests.
