Tinuy-an Falls, Bislig

4.6
#2 of 12 in Things to do in Surigao del Sur Province
Due to its handsome aspect, Tinuy-an Falls has been featured in numerous international advertisments and affords visitors picturesque photo opportunities. An impressive 95 m (311 ft) wide and soaring 55 m (180 ft) high, the cascade is sometimes referred to as the little Niagara Falls of the Philippines. Regarded as the widest waterfall in the country, the curtain of water descends three tiers through the verdant jungle surroundings. You can ride rafts up to the deluge to enjoy a "water massage," and look out for a rainbow that occurs around the cascade daily between 9 and 11 am, when the rising sun catches the water at just the right angle. • Its nice to be in here! If you don't have a private vehicle you can ride single motor (rent or pakyaw) from the highway to the falls itself. It approximately 30-45mins ride from Bislig city proper. Th...  more »

  • Niagara Falls of the Philippines! Totally majestic. If you want to go up the falls, you would need to hire a guide. They do not have a fixed rate, rather depends on your donation. You can ride the bamboo raft as well ( not sure how much) but you can have a dip in the middle of the falls. However, I dont think there are any lifeguards around.
  • I recommend this place just for a short visit, around 2-3hrs only as there’s nothing much to do around the area aside from unlimited picture taking and videos. You can climb up the higher level of the falls with only donation for the guide. Food and drinks are available from the stalls at the parking area. Souvenirs can also be bought there. Best time to visit the falls is after a rainfall hehehe and we cannot predict that, we are so happy during our visit because there was a heavy downpour where the falls is so beautiful to look at, the water cascading looks like white, wide curtain (just like Niagara Falls).
  • Superb Place! The falls is breath taking. The view from up top the water fall is exhilarating. Must see
  • I hope that the government will make some improvement especially the road to this location. It could be convenient concreting the road for a less hassle trip. Compared to Enchanted River in Hinatuan they already made up a fast pace improvements. 👌
  • I took us a long drive to get there but it was all worth it. You got free hydrotherapy from the falls. Tiny version of Niagara falls.
