Tappiyah Falls, Banaue

4.5
#3 of 9 in Things to do in Banaue
Follow narrow pathways and steep staircases to arrive at the majestic Tappiyah Falls. Start the route in Batad Village and climb paths through the rice terraces, where you’ll be greeted by friendly locals who are hard at work. The trek will take you up and down plenty of steps, which have been carved into the rocks along hair-raising paths on the edge of cliffs. After a demanding trek, you’ll be ready to dive into the ice-cold waters upon arrival at the picturesque waterfall. Although suitable for all fitness levels, the route is considered strenuous. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the journey. Take the guesswork out of planning a Banaue vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • The path should not be underestimated. The many stages can be tedious. And you have to go back all the way. It provides for the die-hard to take a dip in the Lake at the foot of the waterfall. Great experience that issues like is recalled back...

  • Lot of stairs up and down. Going up was tough. Have seen a lot better waterfalls. Very small. Not really worth the hike. Rather save your energy and hike more of the rice terraces  more »

  • beautiful falls on the other side of batad rice terraces. warning: the climb back up the hill is long and tough so you should be in relatively good shape otherwise you will find this difficult as it is quite steep. in saying that though there are actual steps and railing most of the way. there is a lovely viewpoint and you can decent further down and go for a swim.
  • Beautiful waterfall and a great place to refresh after the walk around the rice fields. Even though the trek there is surprisingly long, it's definitely worth it.
  • Love it. Wasn't able to take a dip after getting exhausted from a long trek but overall experience was marvelous!
  • Didn't get to swim in it but definitely a big waterfall you can swim in. Water was full of sediment due to rains and runoff, it was quite a hike to get down to. Small resting area before taking a short path further, down to the falls. Small sari-sari store before the rest area.. No surprise!
  • Worth the hike. Prepare your legs for knee high steps.
