Hapao Rice Terraces, Banaue
(4.7/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Take a light trek through Hapao Rice Terraces, a natural sanctuary and a World Heritage Site. Learn from the locals about their farming traditions and the heritage of Ifugaos as you hike along the stone walls of the terraces, which take you down to the foot of the mountain. Surrounded by hills, walking along the trail through the rice terraces makes a truly memorable experience, with only the blowing wind creating any background noise. Hire a guide to give you a more detailed impression of the region, and also to show you the hidden hot spring. When walking, be careful not to cause damage to your surroundings. Add Hapao Rice Terraces and other attractions to your Banaue trip itinerary using our Banaue itinerary planner.

  • Compared to Batad and Banaue same, these rice fields are frankly not unusual: no point of view, a little fake hot springs... Also we can largely do without Guide, ours took us a bit to c... s to show rabbits and ducks, hens kind "and that it is the home of the hens when they go to sleep". Ah good? We know, we just got here on Earth. Blah blah, what.

  • These terraces had a lot of steep steps going down but the paths were a nice width and it was a less strenuous trek back up a different path. We saw ladies preparing the fields for planting and the gu...  more »
  • One should visit Hungduan in order to have an above view of Hapao rice terraces. It will take you an hour and a half PUJ ride from Banaue town proper to reach this place
