Hapao Rice Terraces, Banaue

4.8
#3 of 6 in Sightseeing in Banaue
Farm Tourist Spot
Take a light trek through Hapao Rice Terraces, a natural sanctuary and a World Heritage Site. Learn from the locals about their farming traditions and the heritage of Ifugaos as you hike along the stone walls of the terraces, which take you down to the foot of the mountain. Surrounded by hills, walking along the trail through the rice terraces makes a truly memorable experience, with only the blowing wind creating any background noise. Hire a guide to give you a more detailed impression of the region, and also to show you the hidden hot spring. When walking, be careful not to cause damage to your surroundings. Add Hapao Rice Terraces and other attractions to your Banaue trip itinerary using our Banaue itinerary planner.

  • We did choose to come here because the guide said it could be an easier way to the spot. The view was stunning. It expands to a wider range. They have the hot springs but we were not ready for a dip. ...  more »
  • Take some extra time to see these terraces, they are worth seeing. Try going to where the road ends and meet the local people who speak perfect English.  more »
