Dicasalarin Cove, Baler

4.4
#3 of 18 in Things to do in Baler
Water Body Nature / Park
Dicasalarin Cove affords visitors the chance to revel on soft white sands, bordered by a striking blue ocean and verdant rolling hills. The privately owned cove has a small charge for entry and parking, and the area surrounding the beach abounds with sightseeing opportunities, including an artist village, a seedling nursery, and various other interesting structures. The fairly rough ocean seethes with strong currents, making it inappropriate for children to swim in. Be sure to climb the many stairs up to the unusual beacon on the top of the point, from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the cove. Be careful here, as there are no railings to protect from the long drop to the jagged rocks below. Make Dicasalarin Cove part of your personalized Baler itinerary using our Baler holiday planner.

Where to stay in Baler

Hang out along Baler's Sabang Beach, where the majority of the city' accommodation is located. Here you'll find a range of options, from budget inns, surf houses, and rentals to more luxurious resorts and hotels. Waves reaching 2.7 m (9 ft) high attract crowds of surfer tourists between September and February, making it the the city's peak season. Though it's a popular destination year-round and you should always reserve your room ahead of time, it's even more important to reserve far in advance if you're coming in this peak season.

  • If you're a guest of Costa Pacifica you can hire a van for P3,000 with driver, and create your own itinerary. The front desk will give you a voucher to be presented at the Cove's entrance and pay P300 each. My husband and I went there on a Friday and we have the whole beach to ourselves. Be careful though with the land's green snakes, we encountered 2 of them who are rather fierce when the driver tried to shoo them away. Enjoy the fresh water stream rushing towards the sea. Don't forget to take that breathtaking overlooking shot of the beach when you make that stop right at the property entrance.
  • Awesome view. The trip to the place itself is an adventure. The scenery from the peek is spectacular. But be warned, there will be a lot of stairs to climb and even a small river to cross so come with flip flops unless you're fine with wet shoes.
  • It is a private beach so there's not a lot of people who go here. Best for bonding with family and friends
  • A really nice and secluded place far form the hustle and bustle. The downside is the absence of electricity at night and the lack of street lights to and from the place. The roads on the way are also too steep so it's best to have an experienced driver take you here.
  • White sand beach! Great place to visit while you are in Baler. But there is an entrance fee of 300 pesos per person. They give a 50% discount for guests of Costa Pacifica. Just present your room key. Watch out for the road once your near the Pagasa station. It's very steep. But there are people who will guide you for incoming vehicles.
