The Mansion, Baguio

2.7
#5 of 11 in Historic Sites in Baguio
Architectural Building Historic Site
The ornate iron gate and neatly trimmed grass of the president’s summer house, The Mansion, will instantly capture your attention. The villa was built in 1908 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, with its rustic aesthetic having survived a couple of restorations. While some areas remain restricted, the villa contains a museum open to the public, displaying presidential memorabilia and artworks collected over the years. Take a walk along the pine tree promenade in the park across the street, where you’ll find souvenir shops and the opportunity to go on a horse ride. Our Baguio tourist route planner makes visiting The Mansion and other Baguio attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • This building set in beautifully manicured gardens was the "weekender" of President Ferdinand Marcos and his wife Imelda. It smacks of all the decadence associated with the Marcos era and is certainly...  more »
  • It is an old colonial building that is very well maintained. You can go in only up to certain point and the rest is off limit. There is a garden and a pond opposite the road too. It is close to the ot...  more »
  • That's all there is to it. Nothing more to say, really. It's just a house you can look at from afar because you are not allowed a closer look.  more »

  • There's not much to do other than take photos, and you are only allowed to do so from a distance. They could really open some of the rooms to the public and offer guided tours, especially on days when the President is not around.
  • Although there is nothing much to see or do here. You have not been to Baguio if you have not taken a photo with the Philippine Presidents' summer home. A must see historical site in Baguio City.
  • Since civilians are only allowed few feet from the main gate you can only take picture of the front part of the house. But nevertheless it's still worth visiting the place if you're gonna visit Baguio.
  • Not much activity except to take a souvenir shot in front of the house ( actually, the house is still far behind, no access ). You haven't been to Baguio if you have no pic here! 😉😎
  • You can take photos outside and inside the gate, but still its too far from the Mansion. Anyway, its the view that counts. And its one of the tourist spot, so you better take photos of it nalang. 😂😂😂

Where to stay in Baguio

Look for upscale accommodations near Burnham Park, where you can check into a room with views over the central green area. Some resorts farther out of the city center make use of the increase in space by offering pools, onsite restaurants, and other amenities. Bed and breakfasts provide the more budget-conscious traveler with a comfortable place to rest after a long day of adventuring. You'll find these establishments on the outskirts of town, or along the side streets in and around the city center.
